Over 20 years experience coaching swimmers of all ages & abilities
David has a wealth of experience in swimming having been a competitive swimmer for many years, up to national and international events including Age Group and Senior nationals, Speedo Grand Prix’s, Super Grand Prix’s and Olympic Trials. David recently broke his competitive retirement to join 99 other past and present Team GB swimmers (Including Adam Peaty, Rebecca Adlington, Jazz Carlin, James Hickman to name a few) to break the 100×100 world record previously held by Australia in an effort to raise money for Bloodwise UK.
David has been involved in teaching and swimming coaching for over 20 years. Starting as part of his family swim school business which operated at a number of independent schools and health clubs in the Cranleigh / Guildford area he progressed to consulting at other swim schools and became head coach at Cranleigh swimming club and head of swimming at Cranleigh school.
For three years David was the Surrey team coach for the Inter-Counties at Sheffield and also the Division 11 (Surrey & Kent) coach for the English school nationals.
David then left the UK to lead the Tanglin Merlions swim team in Singapore which included 300 swimmers from competitive beginner through to international representatives. David was the Kenyan team coach at the FINA Junior World Championships in 2015 and at the 2013/14/15 FINA World Cups. He is now highly qualified with both British Swimming and the Australian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association.
